Discord auto assigning status update when joining voice

This feature is so stupid. Fine, some people may like discord telling everyone what they're up to whenever they join a voice channel, but the fact there is no way to stop it, and every time I join voice, I have to mouse over my username to cancel out the “Right now I'm chilling in voice,” and the stupid icon is the worst. It does not respect my “away” status, still insisting on assigning me a status update that is visible to EVERYONE, even if they are not a part of the server I just joined. The only way to avoid it giving me a status seems to be to appear offline. There absolutely needs to be an option to turn this off by default, I do not want, nor will I ever want discord to tell people what I'm doing without me manually setting it. There is the option to stop it showing people what game I am playing, so why not an option for this? In searching for solutions, I see that this has been an issue for over 5 months! 5 months people have been complaining and reviling this feature, and it's still unavoidable. I have cancelled my Nitro subscription today, and wont be getting it again until discord starts respecting my privacy.
