Return file size limit to 25MB
The reversion is unfair and only adds tedium to the process of sharing larger files to others. If one of the reasons is "files over 10mb were very infrequently shared" thats because sharing small stuff like images or text files is more common than sharing something bigger like short videos or zipped folders. It's annoying to splice 1 minute videos into 3 segments, and makes it less accessible to view as well. Additionally, I dont see myself ever paying for a nitro subscription unless the price changes to something that people who need to buy rent and groceries can afford ($20 USD a year or a $50 one time purchase or something) Please revert this change as soon as possible.

I get that the recent change makes sharing larger files more cumbersome. It's true that small files are shared more frequently than larger ones, and splitting videos can be frustrating. If cost is a concern for Nitro, hopefully, Discord considers more affordable options. Reverting this change could definitely make the process smoother for everyone.

I have trouble believing that files over 10 MB were infrequently shared because I often struggle to get my own files under 25 MB. I cannot afford nitro, and this change makes me want it less. I hate having to open handbrake every time I want to send a short video to my friends.

I completely agree.
The money-machine aka Discord, has done it again. Greedy!25mb is already so very small, but at least it works with clipping videos inside steelseries.gg and add it to Discord…. Well, until now….
This feature was by far the most used feature in our community - This feature is dead because of the greediness of Discord and because it cannot convert the clip to 10mb.
I cannot ask xxxxxx people to by Nitro.. Come on…. This is simply unacceptable!
Change it back!

Agreed this was obviously to get more people to get nitro. I tried sending myself some screenshots to clear up space and it keeps repeating it over and over. Unacceptable and should have never been added. Takes away basic abilities behind a paywall

Honestly, this is not one of the smartest decisions to be made for Discord, and feels like a cheap and vile tactic to try and force people to buy Nitro. If they truly cared for the people using their App, they wouldn't have done this in the first place.

I came back to post on this again because I can now say definitively that the file size limit is too low when I can't even post a 10 second video of a woodpecker I saw outside my window *from my phone* because the phone can only get it down to 12 Megabytes.
Do not tell me for a SECOND that most users never go past 10. I just want to show my friends the cool bird I saw.

Splitting files is such a hassle, and it makes the platform less user-friendly. I also think Nitro’s pricing could be more accessible; a more affordable option would encourage more people to subscribe. Let’s hope they reconsider this change!

I can't even forward a previous message from another chat that contains a file (usually a video) over 10MB. I was completely caught off guard by this when I tried to send one again (which was 11MB).
It's not practical that I have to subscribe to a service just to be able to upload a video under a minute long. Not even TikTok does this.
