 If the default for text were to be bold it would be so much easier to read e.g. on Apple IOS (in my case on Ipad).

    IOS has text formatting already, there is no need for Discord to implement something like this. 

    1. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Larger Text.
    2. Tap Larger Accessibility Sizes for bigger font options.
    3. Drag the slider to select the font size you want.

    This should make it clearer for you to read.
