There is already a feature like this, all you have to do is go to the Discord app, go to settings, click Appearance, then scroll down until you find "Developer Mode" turn that on and right click on your profile or wanted profile and click "Copy ID" after you do that you will have a number example: 686140944491479045. What you wanna do is make a link called discord.com/users/(the number), example discord.com/users/686140944491479045. After you did that you can share the link everywhere.

If it's really that simple, then what is the excuse for the Discord Team not to add a function?

There is no "Developer mode" toggle in Appearance.

This should be a basic feature... I found this thread because I was googling a way to link to my Discord profile on Twitter... (so people can send me a friend request by clicking the link). This would be an invaluable tool for networking with friends on other social sites.

Honestly, Discord could implement it as follows... (PS: I am an artist/designer who ahs done UX/UI design and web development planning before, and I have zero clue as to why this hasn't just been done...)
    -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_--

    1. In either the App or the website you would go to the friends tab and have a Button towards the top titled 'Friend link' (Or whatever). The link could be created, changed, etc. You could even offer analytics by allowing the user to store up to three different links which would let the user know from where the friend requests were coming from. ie; twitter, facebook or dating profile, Job Resume site etc.

    2. The link would look as thus 'DISC.GG.ProfileName#6237'

    3. You could have options for the friend request link via the site or App. You could choose whether it was a Normal friend request or if it was a 'Turbo request'. Turbo Requests would send them to a profile page much like Linktree. You have your add as friend button, and you have, as the user, the ability to add up to 3 personal servers friends can join, a Special server ONLY available through this link, a picture, and a few paragraphs as an about me section or ToS etc...

Anyways, there's a LOT that could be done and the only reason people aren't chomping at the bit for this feature is because they haven't considered it as a possibility... As you can see, literally everyone who has seen this thread immediately thinks it's a good idea.

PLZ get on this Discord.... I'll give you 1/24th of my soul to do it XD

You can do this! (kinda) You can make a link that shows your profile when opened.

    https://discord.com/users/id

Replace id with your discord id. You can get your id by enabling Developer Mode in settings somewhere and right clicking on your name. Note that this does not work in the mobile app.

Yeah, kinda. It's actually not the same. Not every user has the dev mode enabled. Also, it's way more complicated to activate it -> search your user ID -> try to find or remember the hotlink -> create a new link manually. Instead: Discord could easily add a new button.

I tested it and you need to either be friends or in the server with that user in order for the discord.com/users/{user-id} to show their banner. I'm working on a website that uses Discord login and a user link feature would be really nice - if Discord ever decides to add it.

    11/20/2021, still need it.
    I suggest a link format like that: discord.gg/add/{name}#{discriminator}
    Example: discord.gg/add/Wumpus#0001

I love this idea. It doesn't sound, either, like it would be too difficult to implement.

  • i would love this, but for users like me (with rare characters) would be very hard, I would suggest using like a public user ID instead the user directly, i think it would be so much easier with numbers (even with characters)

    example: discord.gg/add/923819238

    or

    discord.gg/add/92a8cmq2a9kaz
