Channel Merging

This is definitely a feature I would like to see added, my server often times makes a "hype" type of channel that after the hype dies, would benefit from being meged into the base channel. Such as an expansion that's coming out, and when it does, merge that channel into the current spoilers channel for released content.

The point is the ability to merge old archived channels to free up space for new channels.
My discord has around 20 archived channels we no longer used but contain info that might be needed. Being able to merge them would be invaluable.0 -
Additionally, they'd also be time and date stamped.

Honestly, they could make it a massive THREAD at this point, and it'd still work.
Select the main channel, select the channel to merge and archive as a thread or such. And done. All the content remains and will be viewable, but the secondary channel would be merged into the first one.
Discord - Make this possible please, it can't be that much effort at this point, with the new thread feature?

We really need to merge two channels.
The quickest solution:
- Select the "starting channel"
- Select the "destination channel"
- Click "Merge"
- Every messages into "starting channel" go into "correct channel" (copy&paste), with the right date and positioning.

I wonder if there could be a way to have a merge option and just select the messages in said thread you are wanting to merge or like a "send to X thread" option. My thought behind this is because I don't want to copy and paste someone else's information to combine it and make it seem like I am taking credit for the message ESPECIALLY if it is information that is helpful to people. I do see how time stamps of message could be a
potential issue though. My suggested option to avoid data corruption when merging threads would be to perhaps tag the original thread name in the time stamp information so that when merging the system isn't looking at JUST the time stamp but also the channel or thread it originated from. You can't create two channels with the exact same name so that should avoid the data corruption issue I would think.
To be fair I understand this would probably be a big ask though.0 -
That doesn't solve the problem wete talking about here. We need to be able to merge older channels so new channels can be made. My discord has over 20 archived channels that we don't want to delete but that aren't used. Merging them would make sense.

Please! I have several channels we use for posting/sharing art and I'd like to merge them together to declutter our discord, without having to go back through literal years of art to paste things around.

Why add a useful feature common to all discussion board software when you can add useless features nobody was asking for and charge a higher price for nitro!
The discord team never ceases to amaze me in the worst ways possible.
EDIT: Lol, after posting this I see Discord force enabled WYSIWYG and removed the option to disable it, along with advertising to get Nitro when you start to get near the character limit in a message. Unbelievable.

Im surprised this was not a feature or option from the beginning. I have two channels that hold the same thing and would love to merge them instead of copy/paste one at a time. Its very time consuming.

I'd like to see this feature for the same reason as others: de-cluttering. Or at least give us an option to collapse certain categories by default, so I can put archived channels to a by-default-collapsed category. They'll show up in search, but won't be immediately visible for new members.
