Previous Message keyboard shortcut (like a bash terminal)
A feature to quickly bring up the last thing you typed in the message box.
Basically, I am looking for the functionality like a bash terminal where you can type ctrl+p or use the up/down arrow to recall the previous/next command.
This idea was brought up in a previous reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/5cxq5s/make_up_arrow_copy_previous_message/
I posted a new thread on reddit with my idea https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/aestfr/is_there_a_previous_message_keyboard_shortcut/

if you use the Up Key it will edit the previous message, that's why that doesn't work like that

Yep. That's how it works in Slack and Skype as well. I am suggesting a change to that functionality.
Someone else has suggested an alternative that up arrow should scroll up and it seemed to get some support https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/8s2w9t/i_wish_i_could_scroll_through_past_messages_using/
Recalling the previous message with up arrow was brought up as well by someone else and I linked that above in my feature request as a reference.

Slack has an option to make the up and down arrows scroll through the sent message history.
IRC clients generally do this, as well as terminals. I miss the functionality, and I'm sick of accidentally editing my last message.

Please consider some way to re-enter prior commands. Especially when paired with slash commands, it seems only sensible.
