Channel Specific Nicknames
My friends and I have discussed that it would be cool if their were channel Specific (rather than server specific) nicknames. Like if, Server A had an RP channel, in the RP channel you would be seen as your character's name but in the main channel of Server A you'd be know as your Username or whatever other nickname you wanted.
On top of that, server specific icons would be rad!

Yes please. Especially with so much online play these days. I want my character names tied to those channels. We have a server that house 6-10 games at any given time. I want my campaign names to show up in those channels/ videos!!

We don't use voice, but text only channels for our RPGs. I was thinking about working on a bot that would change the nickname based on the typing status. When someone starts typing in a channel, it would look up the nickname based on the channel or category for the channel and set it. That may get a little annoying when someone jumps between multiple channels/categories and they have different names for each. All their messages will all flip when their nickname changes.
Ideally, the nick displayed on the messages would remain static.1 -

There is a clear use-case for this, as I host a Discord server but have multiple voice/text channels for various games.
Thus,
Channel A: DND game with players A, B, C, D;
Channel B: online video game with players B, D, E, F;
Channel C: second DND game with players G, H, I, J;
Channel D: online shooter with players A, C, E, G;
In most cases, players aren't going to use the same handle in every game. In channel A, I'd like to be "Feros the Fighter", but channel C "Charlie the Cleric", and B "Serina the Sorceress" with D "xXx420_shootermanxXx", without having to cross-pollinate the usernames or do a /nick command every time I want to talk on a different channel.
@discord support/community management please do what you can to escalate this feature request.

Definitely bumping-- this would be massively useful for RPG servers with multiple games running. Agreed Eudas laid out the use case very well.
