completely agree, i looked into it and found that if i just renamed my m4a files containing aac or opus files containing opus, duh, to a .mp3 file extension, not changing the files contents at all, the music player for discord popped up and it worked perfectly fine, afaik this is a really simple fix to just detect the right file names (m4a, webm, opus, aac) as "audio file names" and then pop the player up

Just want to add that Discord can already play opus files, it just doesn't recognize the .opus file extension. Renaming a .opus file to .ogg makes it possible to embed the file, and Discord can then play the file without problem. So this should be an easy fix to implement.

Please note that opus files are ogg files. Usually ogg files contain either Vorbis or Opus audio. When you encode audio to an opus file, the result is an ogg file as well.

However, the ".opus" file extension is a popular convention for naming Ogg files that contain Opus audio, so it should be recognized as well without people having to change the extension to ".ogg".
