Creating/deleting accidental accounts

Please update the instructions/process when creating and deleting accounts. If you follow a Patreon reward link, you should immediately be prompted to log into your Discord account so you don't accidentally create an account. The option to delete an unclaimed account needs an error message that warns the user that you can't delete an account that doesn't have an email address associated with it.

Following a Patreon reward link, I ended up with a new account because I wasn't logged into my Discord account in the browser. In the screen prompting you to enter an email address, the instructions say that the account will not be saved unless an email address is entered. I didn't want the accidental account to be saved so I did not complete the step of adding an email address. I clicked on the Delete Account option to make sure the account was deleted and was asked to confirm I was sure I wanted it deleted. Confirming that I did want to delete it seemed to succeed. However, when I saw my accidental account still existed, I contacted support and was told there was no way to delete it BECAUSE there's no email address associated with it. I had logged out so I could log into my Discord account so it was too late to add an email address at that point.

    I just had this happen to me. Facepalm moment, Discord! How ya gonna go and create a user with no account or email address associated?

    I just managed to do this today while joining a new server. Now I have no clue how to log back in to the other account (codeman38#7281) to delete it, because I didn't associate an email with it.

    This feels like a situation that should not even be possible to get into.

    Yep. I have had the same problem! I accidentally created another account (with a username I didn't want). I thought it would just delete itself.

    I made the mistake of trying to join a server while I had Discord closed, and lo and behold, it brought up the same account. I clicked off it again, but that alt account had already joined the server.

    This is somewhat irritating, I would like to know how to access and get rid of said alt account.

    This is still happening, 2 users have come in to our server in the last 24 hours with a second new account, def needs fixing
