For those having similar issues in the past few hours, its just the internet, u can see essentially every service had issues at the same time when u look at https://downdetector.com/ Should be fine now for you guys.

But for those that have had this issue for a while, not sure why and still no solution...

same i go from like 40ms to 5000ms and my friends can hear me but i cant hear them and my icon is the only one turning green. Ive tried many solutions but none have worked yet. I think this is discord itself acting up and not my computer since it worked nicely yesterday. I only have a temporary solution and that is to disconnect and reconnect when ever you get this error. And not only this but some times when i try to join a vc i get this RTC connecting and no route error. I really dont know what to do and it seems im not the only one so discord please fix.

Anyone else still having this issue, because I am for 2nd day now. I operate out of Texas if it matters, but this is definitely a discord issue and needs to be fixed asap.

I am having the same 5000ms problem as everyone else. If I leave and join channel it will insta fix it for a few minutes.  I also just now noticed that while in channel it shows the red 5000ms, but while in the debug screen it will show me at my normal 35'ish ms.  I'm not sure if anyone else has said this but everyone else in my server as no problem talking with each other.  This can't be my internet or a server issue something as to be bugged some where. All other Voip services work fine.

Ok so I have been dealing with this problem for quite a long time (maybe 3 months) and before if I just left and joined the vc or reset my router then I would be good for another hour or 2 until I got the red bar and 5000 ping again, but for the last 2-3 weeks it has been happening every 10 -20 minutes but I think I may have finally found a solution. I tried a lot of different solutions like switching from stable to ptb builds, switching between 2g/5g connections, updating my router, using different regions in call, and etc but I would still get ping spike to 5k especially after like 5-10 minutes of sharing screen. What seemed to work for me was logging into my router and turning of UPNP (Universal Plug and Play) and port forwarding the ports TCP 443 and also UDP 50000 - 65534. Once I did that and updated my router I have been red bar free for the last 2 days (fingers crossed) I hope this can help someone else who is having this problem.

So Riley ♡ suggested the ports and i decided to look into my Netgear Nighthawk X6. I do have ports already forwarded because of the 4 PS4 consoles in my house currently. So I feel like an idiot sandwich right now lol BUT the ps4 requires TCP port 443 and i believe my issues are coming when my wife plays on the PS4 Pro in the living room. I have that console hardwired with a static IP so it would always pull the best internet and ports over the other PS4s in the household. Sadly that has come to bite me in the butt today because i have moved to PC mainly. After messing with my ports tonight and having her playing on the PS4 I will update in a day or so.

I think I might've found the issue, for me when I'm in a US Central server it happens all the time, but when I'm in a US South server it barely happens

That's just what happens to me, try it for yourselves!

I’m on central server also when it happens. Was good for a couple days but it is still occurring.

Guys, this problem happened to me after changing my router. I tried the older router and the problem didn't happened, so there's one alternative, the new router is the problem.
Changing some settings solved my problem, the UPNP is the main character of this problem, turning it off fixed my problem, you guys should try it.

correction: issues still persists with upnp disabled

Disabling  UPNP seems to have resolved this issue. Changing servers to other regions did not.

I have the same problem. Disabling UPnP and deleting discord from %appdata% didn't help.

Same problem here. The connection will work just fine for a few minutes, then it stops working after a random amount of time. Pings jumps to 5000ms and no more audio goes through (for me it stops working both ways). It seems like the connection just completely stops working and for me it does not come back for as long as I stay in the channel. Leaving and rejoining the channel does instantly fixes the problem. Until it breaks again a few minutes later.

I'm also having this issue, and I don't have access to the router that I use for internet, so if anyone has any ideas what to do to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

Go to http://routerlogin.net/ and enter the user name and password. Usually the user name is (admin) and the password is (admin) also. The user name and password are different from router to another so if can’t login try to google ur router name and u will find the login information.

I don't know if this works for you guys but i just follow the instruction from here https://www.mweb.co.za/games/view/tabid/4210/Article/22103/Windows-10-Random-Disconnect-Issue-and-Fixes.aspx it works for me. Change the Network adaper settings, pinging your router continuously before you do anything and so on. I hope this help the issues.

I have solved the issue. If anyone is having this issue look up how to change your internet DNS server to cloud flare. DNS was the only issue I thought of when having this issue so I switched and it went away.

I tried everything listed here, and was unable to fix it. It was driving me batty. I was already using cloudflare for DNS, and tried literally everything here and it still didn't work. I even did a Windows Network Reset and the problem still persisted. However, I FINALLY figured it out, at least for my setup.

My motherboard has 2 NICs, one Intel one, and one of the Killer ones (Killer E2500). I was using the Killer one, and no matter what I did, I was unable to fix the Discord issue on the Killer NIC. After that, I decided to try out the Intel one just to see what happened, and instantly everything started working again... There's some conflict with the Killer NIC at least on my PC, likely something to do with the QOS it does either on the Killer software, or in the driver itself. I have no issues on the Intel NIC. So, if any of you have a Killer NIC and an Intel NIC, I would switch over to the Intel one, and the problem should be resolved for you.

I tried many solutions but what is work for me is (if you have UPnP disabled, enable it) that's what works for me so far
