Typing a message when a pinned message is opened

In the (recent) past, users were able to type out messages on the desktop Discord app (and I believe the web version too) when a pinned message was opened. Now, the feature seems to be disabled.

I'd like the feature to be re-enabled - this will allow people to refer to whatever is being pinned while typing out the message.
