Please make it easier to report people/crimes on discord.(especially for non tech savvy people)
I can understand how people can abuse that system. However, not having a reliable report system allows terrible/illegal things to fester on discord. I believe, as a professional company, it would be in your best interest to patch this problem as soon as possible. It might cost less in developer money to patch this issue than to deal with potential lawsuits in the future. There are people talking about school shootings/pedophilia in voice chats. I want to be able to report those individuals and report them to the proper authorities.

What you have to understand is, Discord, like many entities, can't ( and really shouldn't be) held liable for what their product is used for. Someone uses a ford mustang to commit a crime, Ford isn't brought in on charges. A colt .45 is used to shoot a man, Colt isn't brought in on charges. A paper bag from your local supermarket is used to give a 4 year old a paper cut... and so on.
OBS is a software that you can use to record and garner information to get supporting evidence with and then ship off to your local (or their ) authorities and report the crime.0 -
I never said they should be held liable just for providing a service. However, If I go out of my way to make it difficult for authorities to investigate and gather/retain information, then that would be obstruction of justice in addition to aiding and abetting in the crime/crimes involved. As a public platform, by allowing people discuss things like shooting a school or praising Brenton for his "High Score", and making it very arduous to report, it can lead to outcomes with real people getting hurt. Just because you are behind the internet it does not mean it is okay to hack, doxx, swatt, or send a death threas to anyone, especially underage kids. I am not the only person that finds discords reporting mechanism to be annoying to say the least.
Crimes are still crimes. I guess I will have to go the other route and simply wait for new Orwellian laws to be passed that will most likely ruin platforms like this. It would be a lot easier if like 99.9% of all other platforms, you had a easy to use REPORT button.
I managed to report multiple people during my stay on discord, but there was this case about this girl that was being harassed by a pedophile that was the straw that broke the camels back. Not only COULD SHE NOT REPORT HIM (A mod from our server did afterwards), but because the option was not there she did not even consider it. There are KIDS on this platform ffs and we have people talking about "high scores", "shooting kids" and flirting with underage kids.
I was just asking for a simple GUI REPORT BUTTON(Within the app and not in a browser or website) to be part of the options which can be implemented in the next patch with ease.1 -
Sorry to read about the difficulties you have experienced and I truly hope you've all been able to resolve your situations!
I have become aware of serious matter regarding cyberbullying, doxing, harassment, offline and online that's affecting a family by same last name as mine... ANYONE who reads this, please forward information to the Discord admin and to myself if you know how to do that as we have legal action in process and require all the evidence that we can gather for the authorities.
I'm new to Discord so hope anyone with information that would be valuable to authorities will be able to communicate the information to me directly or via the Discord support staff who can forward the details to me to send to authorities dealing with this legal matter.
Cyberbullying and harassment and doxing is not legal and can have adverse affects on anyone online and offline & we appreciate any information viewers of this message can provide that I might forward to law enforcement.

I know this thread is old but have all of you reported your concerns to law enforcement (especially in this case Weaver-Bot)? Where you know of anyone talking about violent threats, extremism or being a predator you must report it to your local law enforcement, even if you do also report it to discord.
