Option to disable "active now" tab
Could you please add an option in the appearance tab to disable the "active now" that is covering a third of the page on the friends list page. It's added clutter that I would at least like to remove as an option so that people who like it can still keep it.
Personally I don't like seeing it there. My friends list is small enough to where the "active now" tab is covering space that I'd rather it not. I know some people probably love the feature! So I'm suggesting an option in the appearance tab to turn off the "active now" tab so that people who enjoy the feature can have it and the people like me who don't prefer or want the tab can turn it off,

This! Yes! Please understand that, sometimes, good things can be left as they are, they do not always need "improvements". Be the first, in the modern era, to understand the principle of "I've done something good, i can leave it as it is and have a beer".

Yet another vote for an option to get rid of this. It adds literally no value at all: it just duplicates information that's already present in the friends list, AND the online list. Definitely not something that should be taking up 1/3 of the screen.
There are plenty of things that could be done to genuinely improve the Discord UX: groups, for example, so friends can be separated into clanmates, family, randos, different games, and so on. But adding something worthless just to occupy space, with no way to get remove it, only puts more noise on the page.
You don't need to push out nonfeatures like this just so you can be seen to be "doing something active". We're fine with you taking your time and just leaving things as they are until you can add actual value. But in the short term, now that you HAVE done this, a way to turn it off would be much more appreciated than the feature itself appears to have been, and is a good policy to adopt going forward as well.

I didn't have it for a long time, until I restarted discord today and now that crap is here. Please give us an option to disable it!

Not only a reminder about what mentioned previously that should be a basic thing in Discord.
But also an idea: to have the option to opt out from showing your activity in the Active Now showcase so that your friends don't have access to see what servers you're in. Even further: customise what friends can see this information shown in Active Now.
Just hoping to see this implemented in ANY way.

I totally agree, there should be an option to hide this.
First time it popped up I was able to hide it and now it updated again and it's there regardless if I want it or not. It's a third of the window that is taking up empty space showing no information at all since none of my friends are sharing this type of information so it's just a big empty splotch eating screen space. Only way to hide it right now is to make the whole window super tiny.

Constantly seeing changes and constantly seeing people talk etc is annoying. I understand that this panel can be useful to some people but it would be nice to be able to turn it off.

Still hoping and waiting for a solution or toggle on/off for this option, when using the app you can not block it as suggested. Works great for browser not for the windows app.
I really don't like seeing 30k+ people in my now active list just cause I am on a server they are on... They are not my friends and that is very intrusing. It even makes me wanna leave servers cause I dont know those people and i am not there for that info.
Please do something about this, it is still being requested after YEARS of asking...1
