there is no reason to make the text box bubbled. problems with the new text input area: 1. there is less space for the text I'm typing. the text is the most important part of the text input area. why would you give it less space? 2. the bubble shape makes it look less streamlined especially when I'm typing multiple lines of text. 3. the little arrow to open up the multimedia options is just bad. it makes it take either the same number of taps or more taps to get to the media i want to send, and it just adds to the new clutter. 4. the send button feels weirdly hard to reach now. generally, this is very cluttered and just not good. I'm sure that most users of discord do not find this aesthetic desirable, and especially not in this app.

  I agree. From an æsthetic point of view, I already dislike overly bubbly/circly designs and I liked the ‘flat’ older style. And your other points about usability are very good, too.
