Please revert UI changes.
Discord is trying to match up with the "sleek" "user friendly" etc etc etc of every other company, but the thing is, it's not helping at all, whatsoever. I hated other apps for having that kind of stuff, the plain boxy scheme was *part of what I liked* about discord.
Now they're taking that away, and worse, they're doing all kinds of UI changes that are extremely irritating to my OCD. Context menus are best, organization is key, and pulling this kinda BS is only going to hurt your app, discord. Especially if it's causing lag on some devices. So let's look at the pros and cons here:
Pros: you get to keep up with the boys.
Cons: everyone hates it, it lags out many older devices, the interface is progressively more confusing to use.
I don't think this is your best decision. You're overworking your techs for something trivial, something trivial that has zero benefits, and many disbenefits. Especially during this CoVID19 epidemic (or pandemic, I can never remember which) all this stress is worthless.
If you're going to work your techs over anything, have them fix bugs and stuff. An old phrase that firmly applies here: "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT." Farmhouse logic boys, keep up.

I can't stand it either. I'm 100% with you. It bugs my OCD as well!

Cross post this under accessibility. Multiple forms of non-neurotypical conditions are aggravated by the new UI.

I agree wholeheartedly. In fact, I've started the hashtag #NotMyPlaceToTalk. Please spread awareness of this initiative—to make Discord’s mobile app usable, fast, and accessible again. https://mobile.twitter.com/ItsSpelledHALEY/status/1278307838754844673
