Can't stop embedded YouTube video in Discord Overlay after hiding overlay

Game: Anno 1800 -- DirectX 12
(Discord doesn't detect the directX 12 variant played from Uplay, so I added it manually)

Other custom settings:
Overlay hotkey modified to Shift + F10

Reproduction steps:

  1. Have someone post a YouTube link which discord converts to an embedded player.
  2. Play that video via the Discord overlay while playing a game
  3. Close the overlay and listen to the video a while (I did for perhaps 3-5 minutes?)
  4. Open overlay
  5. Hover over video to access YouTube player controls

Expected results:

YouTube video overlay, including player controls, should appear.

Actual results:

No change in YouTube video. Clicking video does nothing. Alt-tabbing to control video via Discord properly does not work -- you can play it again, but then you're hearing it twice. Only solution was to close the game so the overlay is closed too.

(This bug is a duplicate of this bug but with repro conditions included.)

    This needs to be fixed asap. Don't understand how nobody in the Discord team has noticed this in the past half year.

    Don't know if it works this way but bumping this as it is still an issue.

    There is no proper way to turn it off but you can go to settings > overlay > game activity > then toggle overlay off then back on (on the game you are currently playing with overlay on) and it will stop the video playing
