Overlay in DotA2

The discord overlay in DotA2 does not work , unless the discord overlay setting is opened and a new key is configured. Re-opening DotA2 causes the same issue to repeat again , wherein one needs to go to the overlay settings and change the toggle overlay lock - key again, in order to be able to use the overlay ingame.

This needs to be repeated every new day we play. Would have been better if this was fixed.

Edit : I just realised that the overlay only works as long as the overlay settings page is open. As soon as the settings is closed ..Boom the overlay button doesnt work anymore. 

Whereas the steam overlay works fine.
