Can We Bring Back the Chatboxes' Ability to Save Text?
Words can't describe how legitimately upset I am at the fact that Discord no longer keeps my text saved in their chatboxes. I just lost too much data that way for various other projects related to the servers I am in.
Core ideas are saved through more reliable methods such as Google Docs, but with both my actual computer storage and my various "clouds" running out of storage, I've had to limit my options for short-term notes, things I'd finish writing up and send later in the day. Now a lot of half-written posts that have remained unsent this whole time for good reason have been completely annihilated. Some of these were related to leisure activities, others had to do with actual business matters. Both of these types of affairs are now likely to face severe consequences because I am no longer capable of holding up my end of my deals in the immediate future.
I've accepted that there's nothing I can do to actually recover all the information that I have lost, but can we at least make sure the chatboxes go back to NOT automatically clearing themselves every time the app or browser is quit? My friends who share my distress believe the last update is very much responsible for this scenario, though we're not sure how exactly this result would've come about.

I second this. Often times I'm interrupted when writing text, and I have to lock my phone to take care of business. My phone will often shut down apps shortly after they're closed out. It's always incredibly disheartening to reopen the app, only to find my response completely wiped clean off the chatbox. Seeing that this is now assured to occur, I feel like I can't trust the app as much to be reliable. Additionally, for those with memory issues, being able to recall the previous written and deleted text is nye impossible. Please bring this back. It was one of my favorite things to rely upon with Discord.

I'm going to disagree. Discord is not a notepad, and I can't fathom any reason at all why it should be used as one. I certainly can't think of any reason to use unsent messages as a form of storage when you could just make a server with yourself as the sole member, private all the channels and do the exact same.
