Discord verifying by phone

So, I believe that Discord shouldn't just have the "verify by phone" option. I think they should have an email option as well. Most of us are teenagers, meaning we wouldn't need to have a phone number for work or anything else. Getting a number costs money, and I wouldn't want to get a phone number just for this verification process. If this could be changed, I would appreciate it.
