Grant others permissions in DM
If you have a DM with someone, you should be able to grant them the same permissions you can grant someone on a specific channel on a server, like Manage Messages, etc, so they are able to delete your messages or pin messages. You would be able to grant them for each person. In this way, bots could purge a DM or a command invocation could be deleted, or you could delete messages you might be uncomfortable with.

There's a fine line with a feature of that kind - keep in mind, other social media platforms don't really allow that as well.
If someone or something sends you a unwanted, inappropriate, or otherwise "not wanted" DM, report and block them would be your best bet.
It all comes down to, " Why would I need the ability to manage other peoples private messages"?0
