Getting Baited by Discord (no phone, no log in)

It must be somewhere in the realm of three months, but I still try to log in a few times a week. Every so often the automated log in gate keeper tells me that I'm logging in from a new IP location. I know this. It is beyond my control. When that happens, the gate keeper sends me, via email, a "verify login" link. Part of the URL is "keeping-discord-safe-and-sound". So today I get a "verify login" link. Could this be it? Will I finally get to log in and clear the 170 pending messages in my account? I click it, type in my email addy and my password and, ha ha ha ha, I get the 'something has gone wrong' page, with the castle image, asking for my mobile phone number. Which I've never had. So, surprise!, trolled again. Gee, thanks.

This is not the first time I've posted here, to the "feedback" forum. Discord Support suggested that I do so and hope for upvotes. I got 17 or more upvotes on a previous post. I guess that wasn't enough. Nothing has changed.
