Support for iOS 15 Notifications with Profile Pictures

Notifications got way better in iOS 15 and I would greatly appreciate if Discord supported profile pictures in notifications the way iMessage and other communication apps are doing. In the picture below you can see an example of how it works in iMessage and Slack: https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/apple-iphone12pro-ios15-notifications-lockscreen_060721_inline-jpg-large-jpg.1804107/ However instead of always showing the senders pro pic, my preference would be: If its a DM, show the senders profile picture. If its a message from a server or group chat, show the server/group chat picture instead. That differentiation would be incredible as you could at a glance see if its a DM or a server/gc message.

    +1 to this -- I know that Discord's iOS team is fairly small but I think proper integration with iOS 15 should be at the top of your priority list
    Another suggestion -- if you are pinged in a server or recieve a DM, make it a 'time-sensitive' notifcation so that it bypasses the Summary -- or if you set your status to Do Not Disturb, have notifications be automatically muted and send to the Summary instead.

    I think those are cool suggestions but maybe as options. I would like Discord to fully integrate with Focus modes in iOS 15. I use Discord for work in addition to other stuff. It would be incredibly useful if I could only have certain servers and people allowed during my Work Focus.

    Android literally already has notifications like this, why haven't they added it to iOS yet???

    This is one of those things that you would think is minor but in reality goes a long way in solidifying Discord as a viable messaging platform. Especially on an Apple Watch, it’s hard to tell who’s talking at a glance. Missing profile/server images in notifications is a huge omission that hurts usability.

    I really feel like discord is dropping the ball here. This would be such a big improvement to the app and it would make using it way more enjoyable. The way apple handles notifications nowadays with the focus modes and such gives us a lot options and discord is not at all making use of that.

    Please give us this.

    An update on this would be great - with iOS 17 fast approaching, it’s embarrassing that Discord is not yet up to the messaging app standards introduced in iOS 15. It’s time to catch up to 2021

    With all the updates to the mobile app they’ve been releasing, I really expected this to be one of them, but nope. Having basic profile images in notifications is still a missing feature. 
    Beyond that, not properly implementing this notification type also means notifications don’t appear in CarPlay. I know that might sound weird for some, but I use Discord as my primary communication method with close friends and family. Being able to hear and reply to their messages while driving is something that’s missing because Discord won’t implement the proper notification type that has existed for years now.
