    I don't think they should. Custom prefixes were cool but they were born out of necessity; for your bot to sit there and scan all incoming messages there was no way to easily tell which messages were commands unless they were prefixed.

    Now there is a clearly defined part of the API telling bots what are commands and what aren't, so that necessity is gone.

    Besides that, from a UX standpoint, making every bot use a common prefix improves consistency and looks better. And since you can click on the bot in the left sidebar to filter its commands, the need for different prefixes is gone.
