Joining Voice room automatically

The new update brought an automatic join of the voice room when going in one. I do not want to see the icons of the people who speak, I want to stay in the text room I was in.

  Agreed. If there was an option for it that would be fine but I am willing to bet 99% of users have no use or desire for this "feature".

  I sent in a help request for this because it didn't occur to me that there wouldn't be a setting I could change to turn it off and I got back the following from the team.
  
  "I apologize for all the inconvenience here. Just to let you know, this is an intended feature of the app."

  I can't imagine WHY it'd be an intended feature. I don't know about most users, but I've never been in a discord voice call where I preferred seeing everyone's icons fill the screen to having access to the text channel.
