Hoping for a type of feature to reduce static sound through mics

My boyfriend obviously has some kind of headset problem that he needs to fix, but about one week ago, when using discord his mic is picking up the sound of his computer fan and we don't know why. He uses Crisp noise reduction, and did try the other noise reduction feature in settings, but these aren't seeming to work, especially because the noise of the fan is relentlessly, and extremely loud - even louder than his voice, despite being pretty quiet in reality. The sound also makes his voice sound really static-y every time he speaks. I'm hoping maybe Crisp could have an update that might accommodate this, or perhaps someone can suggest another form of noise reduction we could try. Thank you.
