Make it a feature for everyone to see Member Count on top of the list
Hello,
Thanks for taking your time to read this.
I thought of this feature because I made a bot that updates the channel name to the member count every time someone joins/leaves. I was having issues with it, and I learned from the fantastic Discord.JS community that since it spams the API, you can get banned. I do not want to risk a problematic feature. Hence, I quickly removed the issue.
Hence, that begs the question, why do you need it in the first place?
It's nice to see, how many members you have on a server publicly. Though, this is only possible on mobile or Server Settings (which not every person on a server has access to). Hence, I think Discord should allow server owners to enable this feature on the server settings page called "Show Member Count" on top of the channel list. I'd say it would be a nice touch.
Thoughts?
Best Regards,
Aki

I would generally find it better if Discord became more transparent with user numbers and the like: I mean: Who hasn't wanted to find the owner without the crown or all the boosters with their boosts? All this can also be extended to the entire member list, which would be easier for reports of ToS-violating servers. I know it would be hard to reconcile that with "data protection", but that would be like nothing, considering that you can already do something with a user's ID!

Yeah, I agree with that 100%! Managing my server gets a bit difficult sometimes. I gotta say. I was recently threatened to be nuked, and although that issue was resolved, if I had a bigger community and this person remained hidden, who knows what they could've done.
