New tablet UI has some flaws

The new tablet UI is good, it looks better and is much more functional but it has some problems.

1. It isn't performing super well. The version before ran much better, this one is much laggier, has a longer boot up time and takes so much time to load when switching servers.

2. The texts can feel choppy, what I mean by that is when you hit enter, it feels choppy that the text just appears out of nowhere. Earlier, it was smoother. I don't remember the animation or design of text sending on the version before but this one feels weird for some reason, like it's just text appearing out of no where. 

3. In landscape, the channels menu always being present is bothering and this is personal but I'd really appreciate a disable option for that.
