Android mobile - Thread navigation is problematic
I was recently moved onto the new Andoid version, 140.17 (stable). This has caused a massive accessibility issue.
In the old versions, when you would enter a thread, you could go back to the channel/thread list by clicking the hamburger/menu option in the upper left.
With the newest update, the menu button in a thread has been replaced by a "back" arrow. This means that to navigate to other threads, you have to drop back to the main channel, creating a 2-click situation to get where you want to go.
This wouldn't be so bad, except for another issue: When you click the back arrow, it returns you to where the thread was created in the channel, not to the last read post. Given that one of my servers has a bunch of threads that are over a year old, this means that going back is delayed as the server fetches the chat messages from around that time. And then I need to do further navigation to get back to the current discussions.
I have discovered a workaround of swiping from the left side of the screen, which will go back to the previous channel I was in. But this still requires 2-press navigation to get to a new thread.
Is there any way this could be configurable? I'd personally love the old method back, but I don't know if the new react-based UI can support that. I'd also love a toggle for how to handle returning from threads.
