Android Mobile - Images display despite turning them off

On my pixel 5a I have disabled the following options under the "Text and Images" settings:

• When posted as links to chat
• When uploaded directly to Discord
• With Image Descriptions
• Show embeds and preview website links pasted into chat

Yet I am still able to see certain embedded images when posted by other users. This has been the case for slightly less than a week and seems to have happened with the mobile UI update.
