Ruining Discord

Recently, within the last month or two, several "features" have been released and some still to be released and they are all highly negative changes. I've loved this platform for years but now everything is being made worse. First: the forced showing of discord and server join dates. They don't need to be for everyone, make them a per server choice. Second: having multiple images post in instagram style squares. Why would I want people to only see the center of my photo? Make it optional when uploading large quantities of photos Third: the removal of the four digit id codes. With as many users as discord has there's bound to be duplicate names, the #0000 allows people to have those duplicates and still be identified differently. Removing that will cause so many issues and never works well. Plus it's an obvious Twitter copycat. Keep the id codes. Lastly: Clyde auto disconnect. Clyde has removed you from private calls after 5 minutes alone for a while now. The only solace of which was that on mobile it wouldn't disconnect you. Now it does after 3 minutes. I don't care how much bandwidth it uses, if I'm staying in a call with no one in it there's a reason. Make an option that says we acknowledge it'll use extra bandwidth but we don't care. All these changes to become more like other platforms are eventually going to add up. People want to use Discord not Twinstigramtok. Did el*n m*sk buy discord without it being national news? If it keeps up I don't think I'll stay and I'm sure others won't either.. Please make discord back into a better platform

discord has gone through a lot of enshitiffication over the past few years, especially recently. it has already totally disenfranchised and started alienating its existing userbase by making unpopular changes and introducing bloat.

revolt is far from complete but it has a much brighter future than discord. it's likely going to gain traction if discord doesn't reform and change direction. it'll be the great migration of 2016 all over again...
