I don't think that it is possible.

If it's hardware based, the hardware info will be either inside the client itself or called by the client.

Then you could use a virtual machine to obfuscate your hardware informations.

Some people tried to ask for a mac ban, same thing.

And since ips are in private homes not static, it won't be really possible to do it harder

Do you really think the average person (most are kids on discord) know how to use a virtual machine, you even need specific specs to even run it. Also you can make IP banning harder by identifying the ISP and preventing the ranges within the IPs. I don't know Discord's internal system to this, but there is definitely a better way to ban people.

Hardware Banning isn't possible due to the fact discord can either be ran in browser or on the desktop. As someone who used to use Teamspeak often, a platform that does have Hardware Bans, I can confirm that the average child does know how to bypass this, I mean there are literally free tools and many tutorials online on how to do this.

I know IP bans aren't 100% effective but there aren't really any more realistic ways of doing it

True, the only way for hardware banning to work is if you downloaded it to run it. However, if you are on browser, they could possibly make some kind of an extension to prevent this. Also, the hardware ban I am talking about is not as easy. MAC you can usually alter, but hardware you'd need to change either motherboard or network card usually. (This isn't 100% effective either but definitely takes more work, even if there are tools out there) Another possible solution is to have a phone number ban. This would probably be the most effective. Either way there has to be a better solution.

Yeah but for phone number ban, everyone has to use a phone number

Doesn't every account have a phone number? It definitely requires it for the app and 2FA. If not this is still easily implemented.

    No, it doesn't.

Oh then it is for SMS Authentication, my fault. Either way it is still a viable option.
