Why did discord made png images into jpg wherever i post here?

How could this happen? No matter how hard I try to post a PNG image in discord, it only just came up jpg images.

And I discover it was just a media selection problem.

 

As I export the sprite image as PNG, the media selector shows them as jpg and not the best kind of way, I was using a laptop to post sprites in.

  pretty sure the problem is you're image and not discord, just because it ends with .png doesn't mean it's going to have a transparent background
