I currently run a discord community where I share my work in progress for 3D models. However, I have to protect that work in progress from thieves who may steal that design and profit off of it before I manage to announce the final product. I also want to make this work in progress public after the fact to prove I made everything myself and protect myself against accusations that say otherwise.
I looked at threads for this purpose, and it seems like an amazing solution. I see other artistic people using threads to share their work in progress without cluttering the server with extra channels or a singular channel that gets flooded.
The issue I have is that there is no way to make private threads public. I learned that you can ping a role like @ members and everyone assigned to that role at the current time of the ping will get access to the thread, however, any late-joiners will not see the thread. I would very much love this as a feature, and I'm sure threads would get utilized more than they currently do. I personally love them as they are, just need one final thing to really sell their use for me.
I'm sure people would also find use from making previously public threads private.
