I already said I hate the new UI on mobile, but here’s my rant I made as feedback in the AppStore!

So, since Discord decided to finally push an update on all of us that NO ONE ASKED FOR AT ALL, the app lost it’s unique charm and similarities between the desktop/browser version and has literally just become like all those other apps (such as Instagram’s DMs and all that other ugly boring stuff that other apps have). Seriously, I’ve heard that even people who beta tested the UI layout for mobile hated it and didn’t want it to exist, as we all enjoyed the UI layout we previously had before this clunky ass, unusable, inaccessable UI layout change was pushed on everyone. There’s also people with disabilities who are suddenly unable to use discord at all without either going on PC or using the web browser version on mobile, and I don’t mean just people with mental disabilites, I mean people with physical disabilities as well, and they all say that this UI layout update is literally like an attack on disabled people.

People who go on Twitter and even follow Discord on there, they’ve said the Devs literally told everyone to just (put rather simply as I don’t go on Twitter so I don’t know the exact words used) “deal with the update”. I want to point out that this is actually rather disrespectful towards those of us who use this app, to tell us to just accept these changes even if so many people have said how horrible the update is, it’s just plain disrespectful.

Already a bunch of Discord users are already giving feedback through both the app and even on the support site and the vast majority of it is negative feedback either giving a few sentences about how they hate the new UI or even an entire paragraph and in some cases in an essay format. We’ve just begun going from those ways of submitting feedback to using the Review feature here in the AppStore or whatever other app different phones use. Users are also canceling their Discord Nitro subscriptions in response to this unwanted UI update, some are even deleting the app from their phones and some are even downgrading the app to it’s previous version.

If the Discord Devs don’t listen to what the community says, continues to make updates and changes that NO ONE ever asked for or wanted in the first place, then I’m sorry but in the end no one will ever want to use the mobile app again. People wont want to support the Devs and eventually, the entire app will be gone.

In all honesty, the comminity would rather just go back to using whatever social app they had been using before Discord ever existed, so I might as well just go back to using Skype instead if the Discord Devs don’t change this around and revert back to the previous UI layout and functions.
