[FR] Markdown Features

Apologies if this has already been suggested.

Currently, markdown features are being abused massively by malicious bots and users to compromise users accounts across multiple platforms.

Direct Messages

I cannot see the reasoning for using markdown features in DMs, especially with the use of the new subtext feature which users are using to impersonate discord alerts and warnings and markdown links which are being used to mask malicious links. So I would possibly suggest markdown features not being available in DMs.

Server Management

There should be an ability for server owners to be able to disable markdown features for specific roles. I appreciate they are a way to allow users to add more expression to their messages but the scale they are being abused and the workarounds to block them are disruptive and not foolproof. We have bots and auto-mod to disable links, but sometimes markdown links are still able to get through and users are getting compromised through this. 

I feel at a bit of a loss on how to protect more vulnerable members and markdown features, as beneficial as they are to some extent, are making this much harder. I can appreciate from a security perspective this may be common knowledge for some people, but the scale of bots/scams we are seeing has almost tripled and we're struggling to maintain management of it.
