font size not matching system setting

I'm on version 838 on a kindle fire (play store sideloaded) and I noticed that the font size no longer matches the system setting. It is using the normal size when I have large enabled in the settings. It is still behaving as expected on my phone running version 833.

  I'm using (as of today) the latest version of discord and the font does not scale with the system font. It's odd that all of the sudden it changed. I feel like it's a setting that just hasn't been implemented yet. I'm using an older version of discord in the mean time because I need to take advantage of the massive screen on the note 9 lol
