The two-factor auth for everyone.
Hello, i'm a french user of discord, but i will write this post in english anyway.
Recently,I almost got my account stolen, thanks to the discord support, i save him, they advise me to activate the two factor auth, but this one need à QR-code to be validate, and i have a old-school mobile.
But, for example, twitter use a security system with regular messages, why don't try to execute the 2FA with that system ? it willl be simpler and everyone could use it (I do not want, nor the means to spend 300 euros for that)

I don't think they were asking for it to be required- but rather wanted a different option for setting up the 2FA? Right now you can only get 2FA with downloading apps and, as they mentioned with the photo, their phone does not support those apps.
I think a text message code would work just as well as an app, and it would be good for people who can't download apps for 2FA but want the security. It might take more work for Discord's servers to have a 2FA text/SMS-messaging program running.

I think that 2FA is fine the way that it is. -1
