Reduce number fo connections Discord uses to download from the Discord store

Re-posting this for a 3rd time as the 1st was deleted and the 2nd was closed with the claim "Hi there! This suggestion is the same as https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/community/post/360035401892 so in an effort to keep duplicates out and keep everything neat and tidy, we're going to merge this ticket into that suggestion. This ticket will be deleted automatically after a week."

Important to note, the symptoms described in the other thread ate the expected symptoms of excessive connections, this issue is the true cause of these users issues.

With this issue resolved peoples networks will allow other activity to take place rather than choke it out, whilst in the absence of other activity Discord can still take advantage of the speed available.
It's a win win.

Throttling and number of connections are NOT the same thing.
It is possible to have a single connection download at the full speed of the users connection, conversely it is also possible to throttle many connections.

I do NOT want a throttling solution as an answer to this issue, i want my downloads to be as fast as they can and completely unthrottled, but without chocking out other applications in the process.

If Discord or other users wish an optional throttling solution in addition to this that is fine, but they are separate things.

A while back our network ground to a halt, turn out my son had began a download on Discord and it had opened almost 50 connections.

I'm sure i posted about this a few weeks back but now can not find that post or a resolution.

I've now just finished troubleshooting with a friend who had similar symptoms, and it turned out Discord was at fault again.

Discord are not alone, other 'stores' do this too, Epic and the Star Citizen launcher (the latter have corrected the issue).

It's bad network manners to open this many connections, please significantly reduce the number, i'd want to see no more than 5, and I'd love the option of have even less (I'm lucky enough to have a quality ISP, and get no notable congestion on both domestic and international traffic).

I'll bookmark and monitor this, look forward to a response.
