Discord app lagging

I am a geometry dash player and I need peak performance in order to enjoy the game. I also like to use activity settings and overlay which unfortunately are only available in the discord app. This is unfortunate because the discord app uses up like half of my ram and processing power, causing frequent lag spikes, making the game unplayable. This does not occur with the browser version though. I just wish I could make it set my status to the game activity when I'm playing without having to use the app. They could at least make it so you could set what game you're playing in the browser version but the way it is now, is super annoying.

  The best solution that I can think of is to just have only the Discord application open along with your geometry dash client. To minimise how much ram your computer is using. You also didn’t specify how much ram you had either.
