Discord on Apple M1 Devices
完了Discord doesn't seem to work natively on the new ARM-Macs and only with Rosetta 2 Translation at the expense of performance, features and power usage. It would be really nice if Apple Silicon Users could enjoy Discord on the new Laptops and Desktops as well.

its not like Apple Silicon is a weird sideline or temporary thing. this is the future of the Mac. or at least, the next decade or two. and a whole year of it is already gone. tick tock, discord.

+1 for native support!

Just received my new M1 Mac and discord's app is "slower" than on my Intel based Mac. A wee bit of lag on the keyboard and takes a bit longer for the screen to paint when switching between servers, channels

Just wanted to add my voice to the existing pile of voices calling on Discord to make this happen.

any updates?

It would be greatly appreciated if a chat app would not be a heavier battery drain than Photoshop 💜

Looking at Activity Monitor, Discord is literally the last "Intel" app I am still using. Discord is a painfully slow, battery-hungry application and their developers should be ashamed.

Would love the support!:)

adding my voice here. this really needs to happen. im shocked it's taking Discord so long to get this to happen.

I use Discord at work and it is painful to use the Intel version. Let's hope we can have an ARM version on 2021. Please let us know when it reaches canary channel so we can test it :)

Hey is there a way to stop receiving emails from this thread?
I made the mistake of leaving a bump comment here and now I receive an email each time someone comments lol

@Amasc You can sign in to the site with your Discord account then click the "Unfollow" button at the top of the thread.

frood, there's literally a "If you want to stop these notifications" link at the bottom of every email.

ahh thanks! missed the follow/unfollow button

Adding my voice here. Come on Discord, make it happen!
Even though it might not be a "polished" product, just plain-compiling the electron project to ARM and call it "beta" it's enough for 99% of us :(0 -
I use discord at work, all the team switched to M1 recently. M1 Performance are absolutely terrible. So adding my voice too. Come on Discord, it's been a year already.

They have confirmed in a previous post that they're working on it.
yall can calm down now.

We will “calm down” when they release it.

plex "Working on it" a year after the first Apple Silicon hardware was released and a year and a half after Apple Silicon was announced and developer resources were made available is not an acceptable response nor does it commit to a specific timeline. If it has taken this long for them to even work on it, how much longer until we see a release?

They have confirmed in a previous post that they're working on it.
Can you link that post please?

Thank you! I followed this thread to make sure to get the latest infos about potential M1 build, it's a shame they're not interacting with us in this thread.

It's here, update your stuff

Just updated, can also confirm! Disappointing that it took this long but here we are!

Confirmed that the Discord Canary build is now Apple Silicon native. Thanks Discord!

where can i find this updated version, tried to install canary build form the discord website and it still says it wont open if I don't install rosetta

Ritz Ensure you're downloading from https://discord.com/api/download/canary?platform=osx
That leads to a disk image with a Universal (Silicon) Discord Canary application; it will not require Rosetta.

Oh wow it really worked!! So excited to finally have it...

Confirming it works just dandy!
