Channel Backgrounds or Themes
I'm a huge fan of the artwork on Discord, from the cute wumpus drawings to the amazing cartoons all over the website and YouTube channel. For a long time, I've been considering suggesting features, but I could never think of what to ask for - until now.
Having backgrounds or themes for channels would be an awesome detail to add, despite the load of problems that come with it. If contrasting text prevents it, make the drawings the same range of blue-ish shades as the background, little cartoons decorating the channel. Maybe make only the bottom show the image, so that it doesn't stretch all the way to the top. Maybe a nitro feature could be to choose your own image instead of selecting a default discord one, similar to server banners. I think it would do a lot to spice up the server's appearance. If all of that doesn't work, then adding little drawings all over the place would be just as good. Places where empty space leaves room for decoration, like in the settings menu or below the server list. I'm sorry if this is a bit too much to ask for, and if it doesn't make it in, I'll understand why. Thanks!

Edit: An alternative would be Server-Specific palettes, either chosen by the admins (and override-able by a user for their own view), or chosen by the user and only showing up for them. It would allow differentiation, as well as a splash of color. Customizable palettes might also work, but could be limited to booster servers.

Maybe gif themes for nitro users? Just throwing an idea out there.

+1 this would help a lot of diffrent types of communities, im thinking watermarked backgrounds for channels with spoilers, (or where there shouldn't be any) colors for different reward level only channels, there's a lot you could do with this. Even if you only let us use different colors that would go a long way to aid moderators.
