Default profile pictures do not appear on Android mobile
As of about March 11th, 2023, default profile pictures no longer appear in chats on Android mobile devices. The default pictures appear in the sidebars on mobile and everywhere on Windows desktop clients as expected. Custom profile pictures appear everywhere as expected on mobile and on desktop.

Thank goodness I'm not going mad. Same issue is happening to me, and it is making it very difficult to see when a new person is talking in a list of messages; super confusing. At the very least those avatar circles should have a different background colour than the app body. Please fix this!
