Mobile app development

As a mobile developer I have a question to Discord mobile developers. I know that your app was developed on React Native. Do you use some custom IOS or Android native code implementations or there are only React Native features? Also what can you say about Expo managed workflow? Is it possible to make such complex app like Discord with Expo or it is possible only with React Native bare workflow?
