weird emoji discrimination

so i notice when i try to use one of these emojis 👪👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 in a channel name, it gets converted into individual people like this 👩🏼👨🏼🧑🏼👧🏼

but if i were to use them in chat, i do get the actual family emoji instead. any ideas??
