Voice chats laggier than usual

I've been having issues with voice chats being laggier than usual, and I can't pinpoint the issue. I don't know if it's my internet connection, GPU card or what, but video streams keep stopping every few seconds and the sound has a tendency to cut out regularly. There any remedy for this?
