Requiring payment information as part of a free 3-month promotion has caused me to refuse three free months of Nitro.  The correct approach would have been to offer a continuing subscription and offer again when the existing free subscription would've been about to expire.  That approach would've been much more in line with the current perception of Discord's attitude to the userbase.

  Yes, but, requiring a payment plan is how Discord makes money.
