    Hi ;)

Mute, as you have noticed, is that the server is silent. You don't hear notifications. That's what it's all about. The information that someone replied to your message or tagged you is important so it must be recorded in any way so that you know and can come back to it someday. Most likely, discord will not introduce a feature that would allow you to disable the red dot. I think the only way out is to leave the server if that red dot really bothers you.

Hi chelminski! Thanks for the reply!

If Muting is all about removing the sound so that a server is silent, why do the white "notches" indicating someone has sent a message to the server disappear when that server is muted? The white notches are a visual indicator, not an audible indicator. If keeping audio alerts silent is "what muting is all about", the white notches should not disappear from the server icons. (In that case, I change my feedback to request adding back the white notches on muted servers to keep things consistent.)

If, instead, the purpose of muting is not purely for eliminating sound, but is to be able to provide a way to stay in a server while temporarily keeping out the distractions of being notified of the activity happening in the server, then having a way to temporarily disable the red dot in the same way we can temporarily disable the white notch makes a lot of sense and that will continue to be my feature request.

    Thanks!
