Forced changing of user name is MORE restrictive

The forced change to a new user name is more restrictive as you cannot use other special characters, etc. The name I use is very distinctive and does not to be changed to a lesser format. How can I retain my current user name?

  Agree, this forced change is typical of large companies that have lost touch with the product. The current usernames system is the best option for this tool. But with the flick of a switch suddenly some CEO's supercharged ego kicks in and he becomes obsessed on implementing change for the sake of change. Basically the name change decision is a unilateral decision made by a closed minded isolated person who has little understanding or regard for their responsibilities as a developer. I think the name change is worse than bad,

  when the day comes I am forced to change my user name will be the day I end using Discord altogether.
