Ability to mute people instead of block

Essentially, I'd like to be able to hide/collapse the messages of some people I want to opt-in to seeing, without them knowing I've done it, and while still allowing them to DM & react to messages.
Similar to other platforms such as Twitter, where you can mute people instead of fully blocking them.

The existing blocking system is fine for people I never want to interact with, but for those I have to see and chat alongside in servers all the time, sometimes I just want to not see them, or have a clear warning that they're in the conversation so I can avoid it.
But I don't want to come off as rude, or not allow them to DM me in case they need something (important as a moderator)! It's just for my mental sanity 😅
