Add the ability to reorder pins
its frustrating when important pins get buried under more recent pins, the ability to reorder pins would help organization a ton

I was going to suggest the exact same thing, not sure why this isn't already a feature as it would be extremely helpful. I often find myself unpinning a bunch of messages just to pin them again in reverse chronological order so they make sense in the pinned section, etc. And spamming a channel with "ChubbyHubby pinned a message to this channel. See all the pins." Valve please fix.. i mean uh... Discord please add :DD <3

Sadly I doubt it will be this post is 4 months old and there are others like it. I think if discord was gonna do it they would have by now. Although they do have a lot to deal with. Millions of users and lots of things going on. So I'll stay hopeful.

I specifically came here to ask for this feature. Discord supports gamers and as a server admin and community manager I pin A LOT to channels. I'd like to be able to easily order the pins by most frequently asked questions or by importance of information.

Is possible to dream that this will become a thing? I'm still waiting for things more mandatory like quotes, message theards or Cross Channel Voice communication to be done.

i’m going to end up having to make a read only double channel for the information cause when i pin that information it’s in a chaotic order , and you know why double channel is a problem? because i have over 30 channels and doubling them would be really bad , please fix this i honestly don’t know what to do rn

I basically came here to reiterate how useful this would be. If not the ability to reorder them, I would love to see something like the ability to have super pins, or pins that out rank and float at the top always. I have some IPs and game server connections pinned but I have to keep repinning them constantly to keep them atop all the fresh pins.

This would be incredibly useful. I run Play-by-Post tabletop games and roleplay via Discord chat, and pins are an invaluable feature to make sure that important reference material is easily accessible. However, pins can slowly become disorganized as they accumulate. The fact that I can only re-order pins by unpinning and then re-pinning messages means that organization can become quite tedious, almost defeating the point of even pinning important information at all.

Gonna add to the year-long discussion by saying that I also specifically was looking for this feature, hoping it was something that I simply didn't know how to do... only to find that there was no such luck.

My lord, yes. One of the channels in a server I moderate is for learning a language, and I really don't want people to have to scroll all the way to the bottom just to see lesson 1.

We are using pinned messages as an index for a FAQ, and actually we have to pin them in reverse order, and it is tedious when adding a new FAQ, we have to unpin all messages and repin them all.0 -
This! It shouldn't be a big deal but it is sometimes. It doesn't make sense why the most recent pins are first aside from being a "hall of fame." Most servers use it for readable rules and should have oldest pins first because of that.

Yeah, there should be a way to even reorder threads and even messages themselves (allowing you to create a history or document type thread) and just to touch/edit any of these and have them bounce to bottom (or is it top) if needed security work around if they were ordered that way (but they're not).
As it is pins and threads are ordered by when they were added not but when they were created or by when they were edited. If they were ordered by edit/modify time, then it might be better if you were to pair this with touch/bump feature (so edit without edit).
Reordering pins alphabetically or by creation or by views or by modified date or by pinned date are all sub/additional features.1 -
